How to get the best Disney Dining reservations: There are some magical experiences that you can only get at Walt Disney World. Some of those experiences are centered around food, I’m talking about Character meals, and the Be Our Guest dinner service.
Getting these reservations can be pretty tricky. You are competing with a lot of families, eager to get in to these spots as well. Below, I’ve listed my tips and tricks for getting popular dining reservations at Disney World
- Be ready to spend some time
and on the phone exactly 180 days before you arrive at Disney World. If you are staying on property, you can cal 180 days from day one of your vacation, and book reservations for your entire week if you are off property, you have to cal each day 180 days early to make reservations
Start online. The online registration starts at 6:00 am eastern standard time. Where the phone registration start at 7 am. 407-WDW-dine.
Book towards the end of your trip. Guests can start booking 180 days before the fist day of their trip. This means that booking towards the end of your trip is easier, since those days aren’t open to everyone yet.
Start with the hardest to get reservations, not in chronological order. If you want to go to dinner at Be Our Guest on the last day of your trip, still start with that reservation.
Be flexible. Have a list of restaurants that you want to go to, and then a couple extras in mind in case you can’t make reservations work for one or two of your must-do’s.
WDW recently added a new cancelation policy. When you make a reservation, you have to put a credit card number down. If you cancel too close to your reservation (same day), you get charged $10 a person. This is good for most people though, because now people can’t “reservation stack” and hog up all the good spots with reservations they may not even use.
Keep checking back if you don’t get what you want on day 180, check again and again because you never know when someone will cancel.
8. Use an authorized Disney travel agent, It’s free for you, and then you don’t have to do any of the work mentioned above!
